A $6 million condo fire last month was deliberately set, say investigators.

The Windermere condo development at 10th Avenue and 173rd Street was under construction at the time of the fire on March 15th.

No further details have been released.

The investigation has now been handed over to the Edmonton Police Service.

Shortly after the fire, Clay Hamdon with Cove Properties told the media that cameras installed around the development recorded someone breaking into the building and setting one or more fires.

Of the 79 units in the building, 50 had been sold, with the first tenants set to move in next August.
