Four members of a motorcycle gang are facing weapon charges following an investigation southwest of Edmonton.

The four men, full-patch members of the Drayton Valley chapter of the Warlocks, a motorcycle gang founded and based in Florida, were arrested last Friday.

Police seized eight guns including a loaded handgun and two prohibited rifles, 273 rounds of ammunition, marijuana, various prescription pills and other weapons such as knives, brass knuckles and air guns.

"I really do believe this is going to seriously affect this group — taking this amount of fire power away from them, taking the drugs away, letting them know that we're after them," said Insp. Darcy Strang.

Police also arrested  four associates of the gang.
