Snow didn’t stop volunteers from joining the city’s annual River Valley Cleanup on Sunday, even though the weather was more suited for staying in bed with a warm cup of tea.

In one week last year, 2,577 volunteers filled 3,607 bags with trash which the city estimates would fill seven large garbage trucks.

The city has run the annual event since 1987.
