The vehicle stolen during an assault in a west-end strip mall Tuesday was recovered by police.

The Toyota Venza was located in north Edmonton near 149th Avenue and 66th Street at about 5 a.m. Thursday.

The vehicle is now undergoing forensic testing.

A woman was held at gunpoint outside a Chapters store at the strip mall at 170th Street and 99th Avenue.

The woman was walking through the parking lot with her young daughter when the suspect demanded her purse and car keys, police said.

He knocked the woman to the ground, before threatening the owner of the Venza and driving off.

Police are still looking for the suspect described as an Aboriginal man, in his mid-twenties, with short brown hair and mustache with a beard or goatee.

He is between 5’8” and 5’10” in height, stocky build, and was wearing a black jacket with grey hoodie, blue jeans, and white running shoes.

He is believed to have a black handgun.
