Two substantial drug busts kept Peace River-area RCMP officers busy early Saturday.
In Peace River, RCMP seized an estimated $100,000 worth of marijuana and cocaine while conducting a roadside traffic stop along Highway 2.
In total, 15 grams of marijuana and 689 grams (or 1.5 lbs) or cocaine was found.
A 27-year-old Peace River man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He is due in court Monday.
In nearby Grimshaw, a second traffic stop and drug investigation yielded 170 grams of marijuana, 3 grams of ecstasy, a small amount of hash and $2800 in Canadian currency.
A 19-year-old Grimshaw woman has been charged with possession, trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
The woman has been released on cash bail and will appear in court April 16.
Peace River is about 500 km north of Edmonton.
