An autopsy has concluded that the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a basement suite in Edmonton Monday are non-criminal.
In a release, police said determining the exact cause of death of the 56-year-old man and the 54-year-old woman will require more toxicological testing, but their bodies had no obvious signs of injury.
The man and woman lived in a building on 141st Avenue and 79th Street. Neighbours had called police, as it had been several days since anyone had seen them. A dog could also be heard barking from inside the suite.
When officers went to check on the suite, they found the pair's bodies.
Police have confirmed their identities but will not be releasing their names to the public.
