Two arrested in Edmonton bus-shelter vandalism spree
Female suspect also charged with causing a child to be in need of intervention
A 55-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman face dozens of charges in a vandalism spree that destroyed 70 bus shelter window panes across the city.
Between Feb. 18 and Feb. 26, police received reports of 63 vandalized bus shelters in north Edmonton, six in south Edmonton and one in the west end.
On Sunday, police charged the pair with mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon.
The woman was also charged with causing a child to be in need of intervention.
Both are expected to appear in court on Friday.
According to a preliminarily estimate, it will cost $30,000 to clean-up debris and install new window panes at the bus shelters.
