Thousands attend K-Days parade
The 2014 K-Days parade is underway in downtown Edmonton.
Thousands of people have lined the streets to take in the annual festivities.
There are 120 floats in the parade, with the Memorial Cup champion Edmonton Oil Kings sharing the role of parade marshal with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
The route starts at 99th Street and 102nd Avenue, heads west to 105th Street where it turns north, and then continues east along 103rd Avenue to Churchill Square.
Road closures and bus detours will be in effect throughout the morning and early afternoon Friday.
The parade route will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The assembly area north of Jasper Avenue to 103A Avenue from 95th to 97th Streets will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
