Can Man Dan is back collecting donations for the Edmonton Food Bank for the second year in a row.

Dan Johnstone is spending 59 hours in a one-tonne truck parked outside the Terra Losa Safeway to collect food and cash donations.

The Edmonton Food Bank is a charity that is close to Johnstone's heart.

"When I was a kid, we'd use the food bank, we'd depend on it sometimes. So I want to give back and make sure the food bank is always filled up with goods and money so some other kid can eat," he said.

"It's kind of payback 'cause they took care of me, now it's my turn to take care of them."

Johnstone will be outside the Terra Losa Safeway at 97th Avenue and 170th Street until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Johnstone collected 5,000 pounds of food and $12,389 in cash during his first weekend marathon last year.
