Texting teen driver strikes man in crosswalk
St. Albert girl, 17, charged with distracted driving
A 17-year-old St. Albert girl was texting while driving when she struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk, RCMP say.
The teen was travelling west of Bellerose Drive around 10:40 a.m. Saturday when she struck a 27-year-old man who was in a crosswalk near Ironwood Point.
The man was taken to hospital with a broken leg.
The teen has been charged with distracted driving and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
