Court has heard that Robert Paolinelli and the teen were drinking heavily with a group of hockey players at his house Oct. 4, 2011 when he invited the boy into his bedroom and made a graphic offer of sex.

The Crown prosecutor sought a sentence of 15 to 18 months in jail, followed by probation. However, the judge followed the defence's suggestions of 45 days, the minimum sentence.

Paonelli will serve his time in a high-security area with a low risk population.

After the sentence, he will be on probation for two years and must abstain from alcohol and illegal drugs. As well, he is prohibited from being in a position of trust and being in contact with anyone under 16 years old.

Before the sentencing, the teen's mother cried in the courtroom as she read her son's victim impact statement, which stated the teen was scared, angry and reconsidering  his dream of pursuing hockey.

Paolinelli pleaded guilty in December 2011.
