A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of explosives in a Mill Woods playground on Saturday.
After the man was arrested on Monday afternoon, he indicated there were more explosives in a package left in the area of Mill Woods Road and 29th Avenue.
This prompted police to cordon off the area. The EPS bomb squad was on the scene, which is about a block away from École Frère Antoine Elementary School.
A loud bang was heard from the package around 6:20 p.m., the CBC's Paul Moore reported.
Police were called to the school on the weekend after water bottles containing toxic and flammable chemicals were found on the playground.
Charges are pending against the suspect.
