Suspect in motel parking lot stabbing turns himself in to police
A suspect in the fatal stabbing of Aaron Cote outside an Edmonton motel has turned himself in to Vancouver Police.
Cote, 25, was stabbed in the parking lot of the Travelodge Motel near Gateway Blvd. and 45th Avenue early on Dec. 18th. He died of his injuries after he was taken to hospital.
Police issued Canada-wide warrants for a 23-year-old man last week. Edmonton homicide detectives flew to Vancouver to interview him after he turned himself in on Sunday.
The man will be taken back to Edmonton and charged with first-degree murder, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal hit-and-run.
Witnesses told police that fight had broken out at a nearby club and moved over to the motel parking lot.
