A youth has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old Edmonton man last week.

Mohamed Jama Salad was found dead of multiple stab wounds after police were called to a parked vehicle near 97th Street and 133rd Avenue on March 10.

A 16-year-old male was arrested after police executed a search warrant at a north Edmonton home on Thursday.

The accused is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

He cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
