Like many University of Alberta students, John Sexsmith takes the LRT to school.
But the closures of station escalators for repairs have made his commute a challenge because his disability makes it difficult to use the stairs.
Recently, Sexsmith allowed CBC News to tag along as he travelled on the train and discussed some of the barriers faced by people with disabilities.
