A 24-year-old woman found dead in the snow under a balcony in Fort McMurray last weekend has been identified.

While police are not releasing the woman's name, they said she is from Montreal.

The woman's body was was found Sunday at a downtown apartment building.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday, but police said the cause of death is still under investigation as they wait for toxicology results.

In the meantime police are not releasing any further details to "maintain the integrity of the investigation."

Police do not believe there is any risk or danger to the general public stemming from the incident.
