An Edmonton doctor has been charged with four counts of luring following an online investigation by police.
Michael Graff, 29, was arrested on Jan. 10 by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team's Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Sgt. Mike Lokken says the investigation involved a chatroom.
"We seized a computer and a number of other devices. Forensic analysis of those devices is ongoing,” he said.
Graff is charged with luring to commit sexual interference, luring to commit invitation to sexual touching, luring to commit indecent exposure and luring related to child pornography.
Lokken says police are not releasing how many children are involved in the investigation, but says the charges are not related to any children in Graff's practice.
"We’re always alive to the possibility that there could be other victims.”
Graff made his first appearance in court on Jan. 11. He is not in custody but must follow conditions including not to have contact with a child under 16 unless a parent or guardian is present.
Graff works as a family doctor. His office refused to comment on the charges.
The Alberta College of Physicians is responsible for determining whether Graff is allowed to continue practising while facing charges.
Spokeswoman Kelly Eby says the college just learned about the charges and is now deciding what action, if any, to take.
