Snow and ice caused problems for drivers in Edmonton on Monday especially on Anthony Henday Drive.

Police say there were about 60 collisions on city roads between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

An officer from Southwest Division was struck while investigating a two-car collision on Anthony Henday Drive near 111th Street around 8:50 a.m.

The officer, who police say was wearing a reflective vest, was leaning into the window of a vehicle involved in the crash when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The impact threw the officer onto the hood of the second car.

She was taken to hospital but her injuries are believed to be minor.
