A man from Fox Creek says an ambulance wasn't available when his wife suffered chest pains and shortness of breath on Wednesday.
John Church says that her work colleagues called for an ambulance, then waited 25 minutes before calling again. That's when they were told an ambulance wasn't available.
Firefighters who were taking a training course down the street ended up taking Church's wife to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Church says his wife was suffering from a stomach virus, asthma and a panic attack. Officials are investigating what happened but he's still concerned.
"For them to look into it and come to the conclusion there's been a mistake, that's fine," Church said.
"And they can apologize to me and that's fine too. But if my wife did have a heart attack and she died, would sorry be enough?"
An official with the ambulance service says that if the unit stationed in Fox Creek is tied up with a call, they're supposed to get one from a surrounding community.
