A crane rental company in Edmonton overreached its luck last week, getting nailed with a sky-high $10,000 fine for driving an overweight vehicle on a city street.

Officers patrolling an industrial area in south Edmonton last Wednesday afternoon spotted the crane driving on a public roadway.

The 46,750-kilogram crane was considerably over the maximum allowable weight of 22,000 kilograms, said police who issued the $10,000 fine under the Commercial Vehicle Dimensions and Weight Regulation of the Traffic Safety Act..
