A pair of teenaged boys pleaded guilty Monday to torturing a young boy at a home in Calmar, southwest of Edmonton, last year.

On Oct. 29, 2011, a boy who was 11 years old at the time went to an older boy's home to watch television and YouTube videos.

Around 11 p.m., the host, who was 12 at the time, pulled out a bottle of vodka and threatened the younger boy to either drink or get punched.

The 12 year old drank so much he later tested .120 or 1½ times the legal limit for driving.

The boy was punched, burned with a cigarette lighter and had part of his head shaved.

"I just try not to think about it. I do everything I can just to forget about it," said the victim's mother.

"As a kid, a minute seems like forever, so I can't imagine what it would have been like to sit there and have someone hold you down and burn you."

During the assault another boy, then 13, came over and participated in the beating.

The victim became so intoxicated, he was passing out and had trouble understanding what was happening.

But when the older boys left the room, the victim managed to put on his shoes and run to a nearby gas bar for help.

Court heard the boy was bruised, bleeding, crying and hysterical.

Doctors later noted bruising on his forehead, cheeks and the bridge of his nose. There was also a mark on the boy's shin caused by a cigarette lighter.

The victim later moved away from the town.

Today, the host pleaded guilty at the Leduc courthouse to assault with a weapon, and criminal harassment while the older boy pleaded guilty to assault.

The judge ordered presentencing reports for both boys, who remain free until they return to court Feb. 22, 2013.
