The "K" in K-Days can mean anything people want it to mean, according to a Northlands spokeswoman.

"The K can stand for whatever you want it to stand for," said Jennifer Sherman on Monday after Northlands released the new logo and branding for the summer exhibition.

"We really want people to see themselves in K-Days, whatever that is. That they come for the concerts, the rides, the food, whatever it is, we want them to see themselves in this festival."

Last summer,K-Days was the winning selection in an online vote on six possible names to replace Capital Ex.

However, Northlands officials went to great pains to say that K-Days was not a shortened version of Klondike Days, the festival's former name.

Sherman said that if people want to dress up in Klondike gear, they can.

"If that's the way that they participate in our summer fair, then who are we to say no?"

Northlands also released a new smartphone app for iPhone and Android devices that will give people information about its events.
