A fire at Meadowlark Christian School Wednesday morning caused $100,000 in damage.
The fire was confined to a junior high science room and the gymnasium storage area, causing smoke and some water damage.
The fire remains under investigation, but is not deemed to be arson..
About 270 students attend the school at 98th Avenue and 158th Street.
Classes were cancelled this morning. Students will be moved to nearby schools for the next few days.
Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will go to Youngstown School at 10330 163rd Street. Children who take a school bus will be picked up at the same time.
Grades 7 to 9 will move to Westlawn School at 9520 165th Street.
Meadowlark Christian School owns the building. Edmonton Public Schools added the school in 2004 as an alternative program offering a Christian education for kindergarten through Grade 9 students.
Early morning phone calls went out to parents letting them know the school would be closed today.
