Woman killed in crash involving suspected drunk driver

A woman was killed Friday morning after a suspected drunk driver smashed into a car on Highway 16, west of Stony Plain, Alta.
RCMP say that a pickup truck drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Range Road 31 and Highway 16 and hit a westbound car just before 10 a.m.
The woman, a passenger in the car, died at the scene. The male driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was arrested for impaired driving causing death. Police said that charges were pending.
