Brad and Krista Howe left behind five children when they were killed by a drunk driver in February 2010.
Krista's sister, a single professional living in downtown Vancouver, quickly moved to care for them.
Karla Green was 34 years old and never planned on having children, so when the phone call came saying her sister and brother-in-law were dead, her life and the lives of five young children changed forever.
Last week, the man convicted of killing the Red Deer couple was granted parole after spending spent less than 1½ years behind bars.
CBC's Scott Fralick sat down with Green to talk about parenthood, the legal system and the man who killed her sister and brother-in-law.
