Hot summer weather seemed to draw the crowds out to Edmonton's Heritage Festival.

All three days of the festival exceeded organizers projections with Saturday's crowd estimated at 112,000, the most ever for an opening day.

Sunday's attendance was estimated at 124,000, while Monday's number was estimated at 126,000.

Final figures will be confirmed later this week.

The festival broke the record for the number of food tickets sold, eventually running out of them altogether by Sunday night.

Patrons were relegated to using cash for the first time after the more than 3,330,000 food tickets sold out.
