RV park evacuated as Athabasca River rises

A recreational vehicle park near Whitecourt was placed under a mandatory evacuation order on Wednesday because of rising waters on the Athabasca River.
People who live or are staying at the Sagitawah RV Park were ordered to leave as quickly as possible and stay away until authorities say they can go back.
Residents are also asked to stay away from the river.
The rising water levels have also prompted the town of Whitecourt to issue a flood watch.
