Northlands released the shortlist of names to replace Edmonton's Capital EX Tuesday morning.
The six names include EdFest, The Edmonton Exhibition, Edmonton Summer Exhibition, K-Days, River City Festival, and River City Summer Fair.
Northlands said it received 2,000 submissions.
The naming committee narrowed the list of submissions down to the six based on relevance to the 21st century; the city's growth and diversification; community spirit; potential promotion by business; and incorporating a new theme every year.
Votes can be cast until July 28,2012 at 6 p.m. with the winner being announced July 29.
For decades the summer exhibition went by Klondike Days, but became Capital EX in 2006.
Northlands said the name failed to catch on.
