People are lining up across Edmonton to buy tickets for Friday's Lotto Max draw which is offering $100 million in winnings.
The prizes are $50 million for LottoMax and another 50 MaxMillions prizes worth $1 million each.
The size of the jackpots drew more than 100 ticket buyers to the International News lottery kiosk in Edmonton City Centre Mall.
"Since opening, it has been busy," said clerk Shiraz Ravji.
Before buying his ticket at Ravji's kiosk, Brian Wright reflected on the appeal of big lottery prizes even though the odds of winning are against you.
"I think it's just keeping your hopes up," he said. "Just keeping hopeful that one day you might win."
In May 2009, thirteen employees of ATB Financial won $49.8 million after buying a Lotto 649 ticket at the same International News Kiosk
