The Grierson Hill Bridge will close from Feb. 18 until the fall for major repairs.

The rehabilitation project will include:

  • Bridge deck demolition and new bridge deck construction
  • Pier column repairs
  • Paving and new guardrail construction

The rehabilitation is expected to cost $4.5 million.

The work means McDougall Hill (north of the Low Level Bridge) will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21.

After Feb. 21, drivers can expect periodic lane closures during off-peak hours and occasional total closures overnight on McDougall Hill.

Drivers are advised to consider James MacDonald Bridge and Dawson Bridge as alternate routes during these closures.
