Two men and three women face a number of charges in what Fort McMurray RCMP are calling an incident of road rage.

RCMP say a fight broke out Monday when people driving a stolen black Ford pick-up truck repeatedly rammed another vehicle.

A number of people were injured, including a 33-year-old man who was taken to hospital after he was struck by a blunt object and cut by an edged weapon.

RCMP were able to locate the five people in the truck around 4:30 p.m.

One man ran away but was stopped by an RCMP police dog team. The others also tried to flee but police were able to arrest them at the scene.

The five accused face multiple charges including aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering death threats, and assaulting a police officer with a weapon.

Police say the attack was not random as most the individuals involved in the incident knew each other.
