The family of Spruce Grove teacher Jolene Cote is spending its first Christmas without her trying to keep the unsolved murder in the public eye.

Cote, 38, was killed two months ago at her home on an acreage west of Edmonton.

Her family and the community is holding two benefits to raise public awareness and money for the Cote's two young children.

Some of the money will also go towards the $25,000 dollar reward for information about her death.

CBC's Scott Fralick attended the first fundraiser Monday. The second will be held Tuesday night at Spruce Grove's Horizon Stage.
