Edmonton police are investigating the discovery of two bodies near a southwest Edmonton cemetery Tuesday morning.
Two people were found dead near the Rosehill Cemetery at 139th Street and Ellerslie Road.
A worker doing some excavating in the area said he noticed a parked black SUV running with its lights on when his crew first arrived in the area around 7 a.m.
"It was still dark and you could see lights up in there," he said. "Just didn't seem normal and nobody's normally around here."
The worker, who declined to give his name, said he didn't get close enough to the vehicle to determine what condition it was in or whether the doors were open.
Police released very few details about the investigation on Tuesday. They still don't know when autopsies on the two bodies will take place.
