Contractors sought for new Royal Alberta Museum

The province has put out a call to companies interested in designing and building the new $340 million Royal Alberta Museum in downtown Edmonton.
Interested companies have until June 22 to submit their qualifications. The province will then invite as many as five of the top companies to submit proposals.
The design must fit in with the nearby Arts District, offer room for expansion as well as meet a LEED silver certification for environmental and energy efficiency.
The contract will be awarded in September.
Premier Ed Stelmach announced in April that the museum will move from its current location near Government House in Glenora to a site at 103A Avenue and 99th Street.
Completion of the new building is scheduled for 2015.
