A major sign the recession in Alberta is over and a boom on its way, construction giant Ledcor is initiating a full-scale recruitment campaign for the first time in the company's issue.
Ledcor, one of the largest construction companies in Canada, is hiring 9,000 people this year.
"We're hiring right now," Sue Melik is their Director of Recruiting. "We have current positions, we have 1000 open positions as we speak today and we are continuing to build on that number."
Ledcor has filled 3,800 positions since January.
The construction company is hiring in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Calgary and across Western Canada.
