Police are searching Henrietta Muir Edwards Park in Edmonton's river valley for three days beginning Monday, but won't say what they hope to find.
Project KARE investigators received information the park may contain evidence concerning an investigation, police said at a news conference Monday morning.
Edmonton police will search the park from May 9 - 11 for a Project KARE investigation. Project KARE investigates missing person cases involving people who lead high-risk lifestyles such as prostitutes.
Police will not say what type of evidence they are looking for.
Much of the park will be closed until police complete the search, which may take longer depending on weather, terrain and what they find.
The areas closed include the foot bridge from the Muttart Conservatory to the park, the foot bridge between downtown and the park and the pathways between the Edmonton Queen and 96 A Street.
