Edmonton Northlands is looking at the possibility of hosting the Indy on its fairgrounds.

The race will be held at the City Centre Airport for the next three years, but then must find a new home when the land is redeveloped as residential neighbourhoods.

"There have been some ancillary discussions," said Northlands president and CEO Richard Andersen. "Just would a track even fit at northlands and we know one would,"

"Just very ancillary CAD (computer-assisted) drawings just to look and see what sort of track could be fit into the site," he said.

Northlands has the space, about 160 acres, said Anderson.

While there has yet been no formal discussions, Anderson notes the race will need to relocate if it's to stay in Edmonton.
