Infrastructure minister Ray Danyluk was rushed to hospital Monday after an anaphylactic reaction. (Government of Alberta)Alberta's infrastructure minister Ray Danyluk was released from hospital Monday after receiving treatment for an allergic reaction to peanuts he suffered earlier in the day.
Danyluk was in a meeting at the legislature on the first day of the fall sitting when he had the attack.
Health minister Gene Zwozdesky escorted his cabinet colleague outside as Danyluk was taken in a wheelchair to the ambulance.
“Ray's known to have a problem with anaphylaxis and peanut allergies and he came in contact with some peanuts accidentally this morning,” said Zwozdesky.
Zwozdesky says Danyluk didn't want to go to the hospital, but the paramedics were able to persuade him.
The premier's office released a statement Monday afternoon saying Danyluk was released from hospital and was recovering at home. He is expected to return to work on Tuesday.
