(CBC)Police wrapped up their search Tuesday of a property near Nojack, Alta., as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Lyle and Marie McCann.

Divers searched a pond on the property and police also used a backhoe to comb through a pile of debris. They also searched the septic tanks on the property.

RCMP said they found no human remains in the pond but would not say what or if they found anything else on the property.

The RCMP have already finished a ground search at the rural property looking for clues in the disappearance of the couple.

Police will not say what led them to search the property — which includes a pond and a scrapyard — near Nojack, a town about 140 kilometres west of Edmonton. The search started on Friday.

Lyle, 78, and his wife, Marie, 77, left St. Albert, Alta., on July 3 bound for British Columbia. They were last seen that day at a gas station in the city just west of Edmonton.

The RCMP named Travis Vader, an Alberta man, as a suspect in the case on Aug. 31, but no charges related to the McCann investigation have been laid. Vader remains in custody on unrelated charges.

The property is near where the couple's missing SUV was found.

Neighbours said the property belongs to a friend of Vader, although police have declined to comment on that claim.
