Tory VP quits to join Wildrose Alliance

Another member of the Alberta Progressive Conservative party has departed for the Wildrose Alliance, but this time it's not a politican.
Shane Saskiw, who lives near Two Hills, was a vice-president with the Progressive Conservative Association in charge of policy and resolutions.
"In particular, I saw that the policies that were coming out of the Alberta government were too left and were inconsistent with my own personal conservative values and beliefs," Saskiw told CBC News.
Saskiw said he was unhappy with the increase in government spending in the last budget and the way policy suggestions from grassroots members of the party were not incorporated into government decision-making.
Two former Tory MLAs — Heather Forsyth, who represents Calgary-Fish Creek and Rob Anderson who represents Airdrie-Chestermere — crossed the floor to the Wildrose Alliance on Jan. 4.
With Paul Hinman, who won a byelection in Calgary-Glenmore in September, it brought the number of Wildrose MLAs to three.
