(CBC)The death of a woman whose body was discovered early Wednesday in northeast Edmonton is the city's first homicide of 2010.

Leslie Ann Talley, 29, died of blunt force trauma. The Medical Examiner was able to determine a cause of death in an autopsy conducted Thursday morning.

Police were called to the area of 151st Avenue and 31st Street just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, after the body of a partially-clothed woman was found lying in the snow beside a truck.

In the hours after the discovery, homicide detectives knocked on doors in the neighbourhood to gather more information on what may have happened.

They were still following up on leads Thursday, police said in a news release.
