Police say icy roads appear to have been the cause of a deadly crash near Pigeon Lake, south of Edmonton, on Saturday afternoon.
Police say a Chevy Cavalier was trying to take a corner on Highway 20, near Highway 13, when it spun into the path of a Ford Crown Victoria.
The driver of the Cavalier was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither person in the Crown Victoria was seriously injured.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
