The medical examiner's office has confirmed the identity of the second man who died in a head-on crash after a police pursuit on Highway 16 near Hinton, Alta., on Nov. 19.

The man, 21, was from the Edmonton area. He was behind the wheel of a minivan that crashed into a pickup truck while it was being chased by the RCMP. Police have since confirmed the minivan was stolen.

The man died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, Leduc resident Brad Kerfoot, 30, also died in the crash.

The circumstances leading to the collision are under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, a civilian provincial agency that probes all incidents involving police that result in death or serious injury.
