Recruiters for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver are in Alberta hiring people to work as security screeners.
The job entails working general security and screening at the doors to Olympic venues, and pays between $16 and $20 an hour.
During weekend recruiting in Edmonton, Tracy Williams was one of those who scored a job working the Games. She's been hired to work for nine weeks as a security dispatcher.
"It will be just so exciting, and watching some of the Games and the atmosphere there will just be dynamic."
While the goal was to hire 200 people in Edmonton, recruiters say fewer people walked through the door than expected.
"We've had some really great candidates come, we just haven't had a lot of them," said security manager Darcy Gardner.
In total, more than 5,000 people across the country are being hired to work security during the Games.
Recruiters have already blitzed Saskatchewan and Ottawa and are heading to Calgary on Monday.
"We're really getting close to our hiring numbers, I'd say we are actually only a couple of weeks away from being completely hired," Gardner said.
"People are very excited to come on board and participate and have a paid Olympic experience. You know, you don't have to have security experience so we are providing training for everyone."
