A former teacher at a junior high school in Spruce Grove, Alta., west of Edmonton, has admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 14-year old former student.
Brian Douglas Nickel, 45, pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexual interference, two counts of possessing child pornography and one count of making child pornography.
According to an agreed statement of facts, the girl was a former student of Nickel's who kept in touch with him. They met in person and communicated using email, instant messages and text messages, and developed a relationship.
Nickel admitted to giving the girl a camera so she could make a video of herself in the shower. They also performed oral sex on each other in a classroom at the school.
Nickel also admitted to having eight videos and 847 pictures of child pornography on his computer.
Nickel will be sentenced on Oct. 27. He is free on bail until then.
