A former Edmonton driving instructor accused of recruiting his students to work in his massage parlours in the city was convicted Thursday of a number of prostitution-related charges.
Vishva Juneja, 63, owned Just for Men and Hustler's Men's Massage, two businesses police said were fronts for prostitution.
Juneja was found guilty of seven of eight charges against him, including two counts of keeping a common bawdy house and three counts of living on the avails of prostitution.
When asked by a reporter if he was going to appeal the judge's verdict, Juneja replied, "Definitely."
Sex was offered at the massage parlours, according to witnesses who testified at the trial.
Juneja will be back in court on May 28, when his lawyer is expected to apply for a stay of one of the charges.
Last year, the Alberta government suspended Juneja's licence to operate his Edmonton driving school, a decision that was upheld in court last fall.
