An Edmonton man was arrested early Monday in connection with Sunday's abduction of a seven-year-old girl, police said.
The man was identified as a person of interest Sunday night and was arrested at a home in north Edmonton, police said in a release.
The man is being interviewed by investigators. No charges have been laid.
The arrest comes after a man allegedly lured the child into his car near her home in northeast Edmonton around 11:15 a.m. local time.
The girl was found four hours later when she showed up at a restaurant in the town of Wildwood, west of Edmonton.
Wildwood is near Edson, where Emily Stauffer, 14, was killed while out on a nature walk on Sept. 27.
Edmonton police Chief Mike Boyd said Sunday that his investigators wouldn't immediately rule out any link between the two incidents.
However, police said Monday there is no indication the suspect is connected to any other investigation.
