Stoll and Greene traded by Edmonton to L.A.

Jarret Stoll takes 165 career points with him from Edmonton to Los Angeles. (John Ulan/Canadian Press)Edmonton Oilers shored up their blue-line Sunday by trading forward Jarret Stoll and defenceman Matt Greene to the Los Angeles Kings for puck-moving defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky.
Stoll, 26, of Melville, Sask., had 14 goals and 22 assists last season and contributed 59 goals and 106 assists in 186 career games with the Oilers.
Greene, 25, had one assist last year with Edmonton, missing 34 games due to an ankle injury, and has a goal and 13 points in 151 games since being taken by the Oilers in the second round, 44th overall, of the 2002 draft.
Visnovsky, 31, tallied eight goals and 33 assists with the Kings last season. In 499 games, Visnovsky had 70 goals and 209 assists.
With the trade, Edmonton inherits the five-year, $28-million US contract extension Visnovsky signed with the Kings in July 2007. The Kings will owe Greene $1.25 million for 2008-09 season.
