A woman, her daughter and grandson have been charged after the body of a man was found in an incinerator just west of Edmonton Tuesday morning.

Late Wednesday Stony Plain RCMP charged Anne Semenovich, 71, with first-degree murder. Laurie Semenovich, 49, and Brian Semenovich, 22, have been charged as accessories after the fact. All three also face charges of interfering with human remains.

Police were called to the rural area south of Spruce Grove when a repairman servicing the incinerator found a body inside.

The identity of the victim has not been released while police wait for an autopsy expected Thursday.

But neighbours said they believed the body was that of the husband of the woman charged with murder.

"It's creepy, it's disturbing," said Sherry Kawth, whose family has lived next door for the past six years.

"There's always been a lot of arguing and stuff over there. If it was the neighbour on the other side I'd be surprised, but…"

Another neighbour, who has lived there for 20 years, said he regularly heard shouting coming from the property.

All three accused appeared in Stony Plain provincial court Wednesday. They will be in court for a bail hearing on May 7.
