A 52-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning at a trucking yard in northeastern Alberta.

Marilyn Richardson of Myrnam, Alta., received massive head injuries as she was working to attach a small trailer to a gravel truck's larger trailer, Vegreville RCMP said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened southeast of Lavoy, Alta., about 120 kilometres east of Edmonton.

RCMP and inspectors from the province's Occupational Health and Safety branch are investigating, but no charges have been laid.
